About Kim

A Native of Pennsylvannia, and longtime resident of Maryland (since age 5) I began drawing on everything from a very early age. Once my artistic abilities were unleashed I began to experiment with all types of mediums. With the help of my High School art teacher, I was able to participate in the National Gallery of Art's Senior Seminar Program when I was a Junior and later intern at the National Gallery of Art's Department of Teacher & School Programs.  My experiences at the NGA were able to help me learn from the Masters, things that can only be learned from spending hours amongst some of the worlds most famous masterpieces!   I went on to attend the Maryland Institute, College of Art. It was at MICA that I discovered my love of Pen & Ink drawing, photography and mono-printing.  During this time I also discovered my love for a very colorful breed of horses called Appaloosas. I graduated from MICA in 2003 with my Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration.  Since graduating I have been busy splitting my time between my two favorite things...creating detailed pen & ink drawings and pursuing my dream of breeding champion Appaloosa horses.

I am the resident illustrator for the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center at Otter Point Creek. Contributing to the center by drawing illustrations for the newsletters & seasonal programs calendar. My artwork has been commissioned by American Ingenuity, Harford Feed, children's book author E.D. Baker, Proper Appaloosas, Bloomsbury Publishing, Free State Appaloosa Horse Club, the Highland Society of Harford County & many private individuals.
